2020: Reminiscing 2019

2019 was a year full of firsts. I've laid this off for far too long and it's time I record all the events that added to the booms of 2019: 1) Songs for July art book Opening Event (Book Launch): 6th July, 2019 @ BooksActually.

2) Collaboration with Team Abstract for their events (through The Red Pencil), Booth at YMCA Bazaar selling books and artprints: 17th August 2019 @ YMCA

3) Participation in SOTA Alumni Assembly as a boother and exhibitor: 29 July 2019


4) Participation in SOTA Fireworks Action as a boother and exhibitior, in collaboration with ArtMart CAS project (part of our sales proceeds went to the Student Endowment Fund): 3rd March @ SOTA 5) Mox Parade as a representative of SOTA: 20th and 22nd September @ SOTA (10% of profit proceeds went to SOTA Student Endowment Fund)


6) Gotong Royong 2019 Sharing in partnership with The Red Pencil: 18th October @ SOTA (I shared mainly about Songs for July as well as the behind-the-scenes of self-publishing for a cause)


7) Christmas Market as a volunteer from The Red Pencil to sell my art and books (20% went to them): December @ Serangoon Gardens Country Club

From all my book-sales alone, $406.60 was garnered from 20% of all profits and donated to The Red Pencil (Singapore) in 2019!




Christmas Market as a volunteer with The Red Pencil (Singapore), had a watercolour booth to let children experience coloring for themselves and its therapy.

Other expansions of Songs for July: 1) Basheer Graphics Bookstore: stocked with art book copies each containing a handdrawn doodle ($20.00 per copy)


2) Huggs-Epigram Coffee and Bookstore: stocked with art book copies ($20 per copy)



FUTURE ENDEAVOURS (TO BE CONQUERED IN 2020)


1. Further distribution of art books to bookstores, the national library in partnership with ALKEM publishing


2. Expanding the reach of Songs for July to The Moon and other local stores


3. Singapore Art Book Fair 2020 in June (tbc)


4. Public Garden 2020 (confirmed)


5. JournalFest Singapore 2020 (tbc)


can't wait for the rest of 2020 to unravel! We only have 365 chances in a year so lets make the most of it all!
