In the course of my experimental illustrations, I grew to love the challenge of etching out the images in my mind as detailedly as possible. Sometimes, I don't plan and the image just grows from the tip of the pen from whichever point it started from. A nose can become a face, and the face surfaces from a lake, and the lake has strange mountains from some land I might have visited before. At the end of everything, the original tour changes to something unanticipated and the person in the drawing seems to be telling me a familiar story. Every artwork takes a life of its own, it is from them that I learn new meaning, and I like to think of them as new individuals that I meet at each time, unique in their own special way.
